How to add an example activity

When you have logged into your 2CaSSarchive account, you will need to compose a new post. The compose window opens, and you will see a screen similar to the one below;

The first thing you need to do is give your article a title (normally, this is the name of the activity you are adding).

2diyhelp1

Once you have added a title you need to upload your activity into the 2CaSSarchive. To do this, click on the circled icon below (when you roll your mouse over it, it will say "Insert File")

2diyhelp2

Locate the file you are using by clicking on the "Choose File" button and browse your computer. Click on the file, and then click on the blue "Upload File" button (and then wait while the file is uploaded).

Once the file has loaded there will some text - underlined - on the screen. This is a link to your activity. To change it from a link to an embedded game you need to change some of the code within the article. This can be done by clicking on the "HTML" tab circled below.

2diyhelp4

When you are in the "HTML" view you will see some code similar to that shown in the image below. Highlight and copy all of this code.

2diyhelp5

Once copied, click at the end of the code showing on the screen and then paste the same code onto the page (you will now have two copies of the code displayed on the screen).

Now you need to make some changes to the content of the code;

n the first section of code change
<a href="http://simonwiddowson.typepad.com/files/THENAMEOFTHEGAME.swf">

to
<embed src="http://simonwiddowson.typepad.com/files/THENAMEOFTHEGAME.swf" width="600" height="400" />

Also delete the "Play: THENAMEOFTHEGAME</a>" code as well. This makes the activity display on the page.

In the second section of code, change the text "play: NAMEOFTHEGAME" to "Full Screen" to give the visitor the option to play it full screen in a browser window.

2diyhelp6
Once you have made the changes to the code, click on the "Rich Text" button (next to the HTML button), then on the right side of the screen choose the category that the activity is going to be placed in from the options available.

Finally, press the green "Publish" button. As soon as you do this, your post will be live on the website for others to view.

 How to add a Google Presentation

When you have logged into your 2CaSSarchive account, you will need to compose a new post. The compose window opens, and you will see a screen similar to the shown at the top of the page.

Give your article a title (see above), then click on the "HTML" tab circled below.

2diyhelp4
Paste the code that you are given to embed your google presentation (you can find this at the end of a presentation, or by clicking on options to embed it on a website)

Once you have pasted in the code, click on the "Rich Text" button (next to the HTML button), then you will be able to add any text before or after the presentation to explain what it is.

When that is done, on the right side of the screen choose the category that the activity is going to be placed in.

Finally, press the green "Publish" button. As soon as you do this, your post will be live on the website for others to view.

How to add images

When you have logged into your 2CaSSarchive account, you will need to compose a new post. The compose window opens, and you will see a screen similar to the shown at the top of the page.

Add your text, and then to insert an image click on the button show below;

2diyhelp8
Locate the image you are using by clicking on the "Choose File" button and browse your computer. Click on the image, and then click on the blue "Upload Image(s)" button (and then wait while the image is uploaded). Once it is uploaded, you don't need to do anything else, as the default setting for images is to be centred on the page, and full size.

Adding Powerpoint / Word / pdf files

These can easily be added by clicking on the "Upload File" icon. Once placed on the page, the plugin from embedit.in will show them in a pop up window (this means that a user without Powerpoint / Word or a PDF reader will still be able to view the file).
